ABOUT

THE MUSIC PLAYED WITH A DEEP FEELING (The Last Moment).

I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. STAY AS YOU ARE. YOU ARE GREAT MUSICIAN MY FRIEND.

BEST WISHES AND GREATINGS.

"A MUSIC THAT SOUNDS CLEAR, LONGING AND IMAGINATIVE."

TODAY I LISTENED AGAIN TO “SEVEN SOUNDS” (INSPIRED BY NATURE), WHICH REALLY REMINDS ME TO JAN GARBAREK’S OFFERINGS IN THE OLD DAYS, “SART” FOR INSTANCE – INCLUDING THE SOUND CONCEPTION WE DEVELOPED AT THAT TIME TOGETHER.

THE QUALITY OF MUSICIANSHIP, INTERACTION AND PARLANDO IS AT TIMES ON A GOOD AND INSPIRED LEVEL.

I AM VERY HAPPY THAT WE ARE PLANNING A RELEASE OF AN ARTIST FROM YOUR COUNTRY THAT I LIKE VERY MUCH, HIS MUSIC HAS MUCH HEART AND SOUL: RAIN SULTANOV IS A GREAT SAXOPHONE PLAYER AND COMPOSER, WITH HIS MUSIC HE HAS A LOT TO SAY.

AVAILABLE PROJECTS

NEW ALBUM RELEASE TOUR 2026

BLUE WHALE

Rain Sultanov's new project «Blue Whale» is a union of musicians to make their important contribution to the preservation of Nature, its pristine beauty, greenery and living creatures, which are priceless for all of us. This is the message - this is an appeal through music to each of us, a request that a reverent attitude towards the World will keep us safe.

Compositions such as Melting Ice, Alive Water, Burning Sun and Polar Bear Cub serve as a warning that irreversible consequences may occur if we fail to protect our green planet, endangered animals, the air, and fauna.

On February 9, 2024, Rain gathered Norway's best musicians and gave a concert at Kampen Church in Oslo. Later, he recorded an album with them, which will be released this year by the German label Ozella Music.

His collaborators in this project include Bendik Hofseth tenor saxophone, Arild Andersen double bass, Helge Iberg piano,  Hikmat Baba-Zada keyboard, Per Oddvar Johansen drums
